As a native speaker who pays attention to things like this, I say it's
just plain not right. Just use 'people'.

Still sounds odd to this native speaker.
You would use "peoples" if you're referring collectively
to the various people
in many nations, and the fact that they are organized
into nations are
essential to convey.
But as a planet, we'd say "people of Earth", or maybe
(although I haven't
heard this): "peoples of the nations of Earth".
In any case, "peoples" is rare, and should probably just
be avoided.
