The reason is the same issue this person was having: http://mail.template-toolkit.org/pipermail/templates/2001-November/002183.html Basically the biggest reason I wanted to review this is academic... for no other reason than to do it. I've already modified Template::Document to use File::MkTemp instead of File::Temp. See my previous post. If I was less interested in it I'd have just done that and moved on without consulting the list.
