Steve,

Doug’s most recent post is on point. I would add that we do have a small team
of people that we’ve hired to help us, but Emily and I are the only full-time
employees of Tronics.

The community is small and the majority have been using the product for 10+
years. There are several firms that use the language around the country, as
well as in Canada, Australia, and Europe. It should be possible to find one to
take on consulting work. We (Tronics Software) also do consulting work. And
it’s OK to post to the list when looking for a developer. Provide a few general
points about the work involved and anyone who may be interested should contact
you.

When major platform development was stopped around 2005, the product lost a lot
of momentum. Since we’ve picked it back up in 2010, our goals have been mostly
to catchup to the modern server environment. A critical decision was made in
2012 when it became evident that the server codebase had an unsupportable
legacy to it. This prompted us to start from scratch on a rewrite.

Our focus is now moving to the future of the platform, including making it
attractive to new developers. To that end version 8 will be a distinctly new
product, albeit with robust backward compatibility support. Almost everything
outside of the core language will change, including how the software is
licensed, how it’s deployed and how it executes. It’s now designed around a
fully modern interpreter model and allows for significant extensibility. I’ll
soon be posting about new features and the open beta coming this summer.

I hope that helps and thank you for considering TeraScript,

Robert

Thanks Robert, I appreciate it.

Here are some of the questions our executive team is asking:

1. How big is the Terascript developer community?

2. If we decide to outsource certain projects. can we find Terascript
Developers or partners? Any locally to the Cincinnati. Ohio market?

3. Can we post project work to this list or is that not allowed or preferred?

4. This list has been a great resource and Robert has answered many questions
to others and to us that have helped us in the past. Are there any other
resources for support or training?

Robert, can you, or have you already, provide some details as to what "fully
modernize the platform" consists of?

Thanks everyone for reading. We appreciate it.

Please do.

Also, send an email to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> if
you have any specific questions about the product.

We are currently developing the next major release which will fully modernize
the platform and make it very competitive.

Subject: TeraScript-Talk: TeraScript Community Questions

Hello all,

I hope this question, in and of itself, is appropriate to be asked here. If
not, I apologize.

We are currently in the process of investigating web development platforms. We
currently run WiTango 5.5 and are evaluating upgrading to TerScript, using php,
or .net and others. Would this forum be the appropriate place to ask questions
about the TeraScript developer community and user base?

Thank you for your time,

Steve Kevill
