hi I've written graphical box files editor. It's written in C++ using Qt. It has similar functionality to tesseractTrainer written in Python. In addition it allows to edit multiple documents, zooming image of documents and it is much faster than the python one. It would be easy to integrate it with API of tesseract-ocr.
