Yes, Pierre, I agree with Remi. I would contribute at least a little
bit if there were a community effort happening instead of a closed
system watched from the outside. I looked into the logs and source
control, and you were right. There does not seem to be any activity
since last summer. Only discussions of minor usage issues have come
from the developers. I don't have much time, but I would like to see
Tesseract support Hebrew and Arabic -- a few people have done work on
training, and a few special things need to happen to appropriately
handle accents. Others are working on Tibetan, which will need special
segmentation. I think that some of the work that has been done outside
the code base, e.g., for Indic languages, could be somehow
incorporated into the code base -- I believe right now that
segmentation is done outside of Tess?

I know a few people specialized in software for minority language
communities that might like to contribute to the project.
