Tom,

Thanks for the info, I will take a look at the X12 site and see if any
of the insanity I have found in the HIPAA guides is addressed there. My
biggest concern is that there are people all through the industry that
feel that if it isn't "in the HIPAA guide", it is not the real
HIPAA stuff, so to speak... and it is unclear to me if the HIPAA guides
are going to be updated in any reliable or timely manner, or if the
changes that might be submitted to the X12 process will be included in
time for them to be implemented in any coordinated manner across the
industry. As the guides stand today, they are not workable as technical
specifications for transaction processing.
