...I get the attached DVI output. Notice that an second set of ??? appear in
bar 14, which disappear if I change L: to LS:. Is it possible that in the
code there is some kind of inheritence between blocks?

Actually when I compile it, it does all fit on one page. That's actually an
important point for me because I eventually want to use it as a
transparency. I suppose it would also be possible to increase the font sizes
and spread it over two pages, then reduce the two pages into A5 format on a
single A4 page. But in principle you're right, the chorus would profit from
an SATB4 style. Is it possible to switch at the chorus? No wait, that would
be very messy.
