As others have already written, the Acrobat 5.0 reader is OK in this
--- IF you set "greek ... off" in the 'preferences'; and that is
indeed possible in the reader as well.

Because the remedy for the problem is so simple, I support the idea
of the popup window (as determined with a cookie)! Anything that
might discourage newcomers from using the archive should be avoided
(if that's not too much trouble).
