I did not tested this on pmx, but on musixtex. I know there are problems
when you change parameters without resetting them (the second file does not
take the defaults, but the last values).
Examples are (between the modules):
- changing staff size
- changing the number of staffs of an instrument
- usings lyrics (they are not closed)
- altering stem length
- altering inter staff and inter instrument space
And many more

I made a file http://users.pandora.be/avr/initsong.tex

For using as

....
\input son1\input initsong
\input son1\input initsong
\input son1
...

To solve some of the problems

Andre

Onderwerp: [Tex-music] Concatenating files

Thanks for the english version of the PMX manual. I think I've found a
problem with it. Page 13, the suggestion for Concatenating several files,
PMX automatically puts a \bye at the end of each piece, and even after
accounting for this I still had problems. Andre Van Ryckeghem's canons
choked tex with \inline= problems and my own piece compiled, but the lyrics
didn't reset properly, giving lots of ???s for staff 1 on the second piece
which wasn't supposed to have any lyrics.

And I still can't get dviconcat to compile.

Next I'm trying mtxlatex.

Thanks,

Veronica
