Roland-- Here's what I've done so far to look into this.
1. Downloaded http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/p/pmx/pmx_2.5.0.orig.tar.gz to my Windows machine. 2. Extracted pmxab.for and mwalmnd.pmx 3. Edited the two incompatible lines in pmxab.for 4. fsplit, compile, and link under windows98 5. Ran pmxab on mwalmnd. No problems, perfectly fine tex file produced. I don't know what line 143 your error message is referring to. Line 143 in pmxab.for is a comment line. I'm not sure where to go from here. I can try the same steps manually under linux when I get to the office later today, probably without the fsplit operation. Any suggestions? --Don Simons > -----Original Message----- > From: Roland Stigge [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2004 1:12 AM > To: Typesetting music with TeX > Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: PMX 2.5.0: segfault > > > Hi, > > when compiling the example file mwalmnd.pmx provided with PMX, I get the > following: > > ========================================================================== > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/temp/test$ pmx mwalmnd.pmx > === RUNNING PMX === > This is PMX, Version 2.5 , 15 Feb 04 > Opening mwalmnd.pmx > > Starting first PMX pass > > Bar 1 Bar 2 Bar 3 Bar 4 Bar 5 Bar 6 Bar 7 Bar 8 Bar 9 Bar 10 > Bar 11 > Bar 12 Bar 13 Bar 14 Bar 15 Bar 16 Bar 17 Bar 18 Bar 19 Bar 20 > Bar 21 Bar 22 Bar 23 Bar 24 Bar 25 > Done with first pass > > > Starting second PMX pass > > > Bar 1 Bar 2 Bar 3 Bar 4 Bar 5 Bar 6 Bar 7 Bar 8 Bar 9 Bar 10 > Bar 11 > Bar 12 Bar 13 Bar 14/usr/bin/pmx: line 143: 3767 Segmentation > fault pmxab $OPT $BASE > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/temp/test$ > ========================================================================== > > I'm using PMX 2.5.0 under Debian GNU/Linux and the i386 hardware > platform. > > bye, > Roland > > _______________________________________________ Tex-music mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://icking-music-archive.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-music
