      2) On October 15, 2003, Olivier Vogel announced to this
         list a way to implement the direct use of accented
         letters and other characters codes with a TeX version of
         the standard LaTeX2e fontenc. With that you could input
         "u directly from the keyboard (or, if you don't have
         that key, use Alt Num Pad 129 (or whatever is
         appropriate). I am forwarding his Oct message to you
         separately.

         Olivier's method is a bit difficult (or at least lengthy)
         to use for non TeXperts. Perhaps someone can come up
         with a simple macro for this, to use with PMX ?
