Unfortunately, it only affected the position of the lyrics without affecting the staves below - the result being a larger spacing between the lyrics, but now overlapping with the following stave (or the following paragraph of text).
You can insert Space: commands in your M-Tx source to increase or decrease space between staves. (Or change the values if already present.)
