I must confess I don't remember exactly which notations and situations give
MIDI ties and which don't. So I did a test. With the following file:

======================================================
1 1 4 4 4 4 0 0
1 1 20 0

t
.\
I
%Ap
g24 t g t | g s g s | ( g g ) | { g g } | g st g st /
======================================================

only the first bar failed to get a MIDI tie. When I uncommented Ap, all bars
got MIDI ties. Unless you had multiple simultaneous ties in a voice, I guess
that means I cannot reproduce your problem (maybe you should send an extract
of your source that you've confirmed exhibits the problem). If you did have
multiple ties, then there's no surprise; PMX cannot do multiple simultaneous
ties in a single voice.

Subject: [TeX-music] ties and midi with m-tx or pmx

Hallo, why are ties marked with { and } played as separate notes and not as one long note in the midi output? Best regards, Simon _______________________________________________ TeX-music mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://icking-music-archive.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-music

Hallo,

the problem is indeed that PMX cannot do a tie and a slur in the same voice. But this is very common in vocal music... Would it be possible to "allow" this or is it difficult to do this?

Thanks for your tip,
Simon
