Since PMX's MIDI capabilities are intended only as an editing helper, and
because the MIDI logic is so widely dispersed within PMX and therefore
difficult to modify, I'm not anxious to mess with it at all.

As long as there is only one object functioning as a tie, if that object has
no explicit index it ought to work in the MIDI. If you can't get all of your
one-at-a-time ties to work in the MIDI by rearranging the indices, then
please send me (privately) the PMX file and indicate where the problem is.
