Many thanks for your reply Prof.Dr.Noack. I took the file into a hex editor and removed all "0d"s. It then processed OK.
The reqired "kfsqpmx.tex" file is in the zip pack "kfur.zip" which is a compendium of Bach fugues, transcribed by Werner, in the archive. There are many "0d"s are in the zip file.
