Good points, Andre.

That's right. I'm not smart enough to work out the logic required to make
one line aware of the note and beam heights of the other. In fact in bar 11,
in both the 2nd and 3rd beams in the upper line, I forced them to be
horizontal, and maybe I should have made them higher at the same time.
However, it didn't occur to me, and as I look at it now, I don't object to
the spacing as is. Does Read say anything about this?

I had to think a while on this one, Obviously the dot is in the wrong place,
but I finally realized why, and I have an excuse. Since this is a canon, I
tried to save some effort by just copying 2 bars worth of notes to use when
a sequence repeated. The dot in question is in the repetition of a sequence.
Look at the first time it occurs, which is 2 bars earlier, in bar 48. When I
originally typeset that bar, I had the G to the right of the F, so I had to
lower the dot there. When I moved on to bars 49-50, I just copied the
sequence, forgetting about the lowered dot. Then later, when I was editing,
I changed my mind about bar 48, reversed the G and F, and put that dot back
where it should be. I completely forgot about the copied dot and never
noticed the error when editing. A good excuse, but my bad.
