As I tried to explain, \"o does work in my TeX system. But the new lyrics string capability in PMX uses the quote marks for a different purpose, and as it stands now, gets confused if you use \"o inside a lyrics string "...". I may decide to go to the effort of unconfusing pmx by having it check the previous character whenever it encounters " after the start of a lyrics string. But first I'll have to refresh my memory about whether I can use inline TeX at all inside a lyrics string; I'm at work right now without access to my main PMX setup. I see that as one option for the future; another which won't require any reprogramming is to use David and Mau's suggestion for typing Alt+0246 to get the umlaut o, together with Andre's suggestion for how to get TeX to recognize it. --Don Simons ------------------------------- [email protected] mailing list If you want to unsubscribe or look at the archives, go to http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-music
