Don: I keep an "accents" file in my home folder and copy from it whenever I need an accented character. For pmx or musixtex, one can use
\input musixec or, if one prefers Palatino or Times or Helvetica, musixplt, musixtmr, or musixhv, respectively. All have accented glyphs. Processing with etex as usual should be sufficient.
