Bob's Photoscore solution looks quite powerful.

In  case that you want to try "XML2PMX" instead, just send me a pdf. And I will see what I can do.

WIth this procedure you will also get a pmx-file.

If the MusiXTeX code was generated by PMX, you can get a
midi using pmxab on the source. Otherwise, you'll need a
program that can scan the generated PDF. I've been
using PhotoScore for years:
