Still looking for that perfect position that you would love to fill at the ICS Congress to be hosted in Texas in July 09? Here are some more postings. Feel free to contact the person listed directly, or simply request to stay on the volunteer list.
Nancy Weaver Volunteer Co-ordinator ICS [email protected] 512.847.7422 Linda Palit [email protected] NSS and ICS Banquet Volunteers and Food Tasters What I need most is people for the NSS and ICS Banquet set ups -- people to work two or three hours on the day of the event to make sure everything is in order and set up properly. There will be decorations to put out, perhaps wine to open. NSS Banquet is Friday night, ICS is Saturday. We expect a large turnout. Bill Stephens [email protected] Non-US Judges for SpeleOlympics The SpeleOlympics committee will be looking for a few international (non-US) judges for some of the events. A semi-formal title might be "Timer/Judge for Cable Ladder Competition" or "Timer/Judge for Obstacle Course Competition". 3- 5 volunteers needed. Joe Ranzau [email protected] in charge of Congress Services Mail room Currency exchange Travel agent On campus Internet Off campus hotels All the food services I could sure use some help. I have the mail room person and I'm doing food but point of contacts for the rest would be great. Most of the hard work setting everything up is done, just need people to check in with folks between now and convention and be the point of contact during the convention. Thanks, Joe Allan Cobb [email protected] Chair, Social Programs We still have lots of needs for people to help with the pre-planning and organization. We also need volunteers to work at various tasks during ICS. Those tasks include information, registration, the howdy party, the banquets, etc. We also need general labor help for setting up and taking down ICS. Joe Mitchell [email protected] Tourist Trips around the Hill Country For noncaving trips--things like trips to Seaworld, canoeing, Hill Country Winery Tour, San Antonio Riverwalk--we need trip leaders too. These trip leaders will also need to be familiar with the trip they are leading. The trip leader acts as a host, guide, and all-around knowledgable person. "Wanted: Information Desk Coordinator. [email protected] This person will recruit a team to staff an information desk near ICS registration to provide information on the ICS, local sights, and amenities. The coordinator need not be from Texas, as long a good, knowledgeable (or trainable!) crew is recruited." "Wanted: Child Care Coordinator. This person will recruit a team to provide day care for children 0-6 years of age. A room at the ICS will be provided for child care, but the coordinator will have to provide supplies for feeding, entertainment, cleaning, etc., and develop a budget for service to recoup expenses (the ICS will pay immediately reimburse expenses so the coordinator will not lose any money)."
