El Jefe - Keeping things consistent has its appeals for the more anal retentive of us in the group. I support the third weekend of October for the date.
Water is always nice at a site but not a requirement. Some of the folks from outside San Antonio and Austin might appreciate a site closer to them. For the love of all that is right with the world don't pick anything near Dallas. I've yet, in three decades on this planet to find any redeeming qualities to that place except maybe that it is not Beaumont. The mud pits around Gonzales were fun, think cavers in the mist looking for cow pie shrooms. It has also been a while since we had anything out west like Chalk Bluff though cost had previously been an issue there. The beauty of the situation is you are in charge, you will never make everyone happy and unless someone else is willing and able, we go where and when you decide. Joe P.S. Don't piss off the cooks...
