You will regret not hitting the delete button. It looks like I am stuck in the Houston area today, Wednesday, the 22nd and postponing my road-trip another 12 hours. My beloved wife is driving alone south of Refugio on Hwy 59. heading for Monterrey. I can only guess that she will leave her car for 3 days somewhere at the border and take a bus from where ever that is. Meanwhile, I found a 4th all-terrain tire different from the other 3 that I mentioned, and really liked it, so I purchased it new for $ 160. https://www.herculestire.com/tire-details/Hercules/Terra%20Trac%20AT%20II It has a much beefier tread than the other 3 tires mentioned in my last "amazing" post. So I will compare all 4 tires over the next 30,000 miles and hopefully learn which is best. At least I understand now how to find the odd size in Houston without having to order it. I think it advisable to avoid 18 inch rims. Unless you want to to thru a bunch of tire salesman hoopla. One thing I left out in a previous post, was after picking up my daughter from Girl Scout Camp, I asked her did you learn anything new. She replied, "I finally learned what the word "c*m" means." I did not learn that until I was 14 at church camp. Where is the human race heading to ? I still hope I can go somewhere, but heading to Mexico now seems like a futile quest to have a relaxing Thanksgiving. Any other travel suggestions ? I need to be in Arlington at 3 p.m. on Sunday, because my beloved wife threw a giant wrench into my travel plans. I have 5 more chores before leaving town: Check the mail, Cash the check ( if it is there ) , mount 2 more tires, and pay the mortgage. Eat lunch. Easy-peasy. Right ?? My goal is to be packing my gear at my storage unit in Brenham by 8 p.m. and on the road for 4 days. Hopefully boondogging 2 of those days in a very scenic place.
