I completely agree, but Apple ships a broken Ruby with Tiger which
definitely complicates the issue a bit. :(
I know -- I filed a bug prior to Tiger GM. But it would still be much
less risky to install a fresh Ruby in /usr/local rather than 'fixing'
the standard install.
