Once Sage Naradha was doubtful whether Narayana or his nAma has more power and was enquiring Narayana himself. Narayana as usual waved a smile and said he would tell him sooner. After some time Narayana summoned Naradha and told him to chant his name in the ears of a mosquito in earth. Naradha obeyed though really not knowing the reason. Immediately the mosquito died. After some time, again Naradha was summoned by God and told him to do the same thing on a new born calf in an agraharam. Naradha obeyed with some reluctance. Immediately the calf also died and this time Naradha was much upset. Yet, did not want to question the Boss. After some time, it was realised that the King was blessed with a baby boy in that country and the Lord asked Naradha to chant his name in the ears of hte new born prince. This time Naradha immediately conveyed his reluctance, as when mosquito or calf died, no one asked him anything. If the same happens to prince, Naradha will be in danger, he thought. However, as he could not say no to Lord, he went were the new born prince was lying. And Naradha was hesitant to chant God's name in the ears of Prince. To Naradha's surprise, the new born prince chanted the Narayana NAma and was telling Naradha "Oh great sage! why do u think, I will also die, if u utter His name. U know what? I m the one who was initially mosquito, bcoz of the NAma smarana was born again as calf, abetter life this time. since i heard His NAma again, i was given even a better birth as Prince.
