1 As this world is not for those who are without wealth, so that world is
not for those who are without kindness.
aruLillaarkku avvulakam illai poruLillaarkku (satyam)
ivvulakam illaaki yaangu ( Tirukkural) (purushartaham)
2 A *Satyam eva jayate nānṛtam, satyena panthā vitato deva-yānaḥ,
yenākramanty ṛṣayo hy āpta-kāmā yatra tat satyasya paramaṁ nidhānam* (3.1.6).
(1) Truth alone triumphs, not *falsehood.* (2) Through truth *the divine
path is spread out,* (3) by which the sages whose desires have been
completely fulfilled reach to where that supreme treasure of Truth is.
Truth is more than truth-speaking. Truth is the symbol of perfection, a
representation of the Divine Being. Adherence to truth means embracing the
universal nature of Reality. Therefore, truth wins victory everywhere. (4)
Truth is the essence of the Universal movement consisting of evolution and
involution. Untruth is negative, whereas truth is positive. Through truth
the consciousness blossoms into more expanded experience, but untruth
attempts to stifle consciousness altogether and disallows the expansion of
consciousness causing, at the same time, the hardening of individuality.
(5) Truth is, in fact, the eye of the individual aspiring for the
realisation of its Absolute nature. (6) The sages got a vision of this
Truth because they were absolutely free from defects such as deceit,
delusion, fraud, pride, vanity and falsehood. They found the consummation
of their desires and aspirations in this Absolute Truth. (7) They became
first *desireless *{ SAMKALPA IN bg 6.2}, and then sought the Truth. *Desire
breeds falsehood*, and desire- lessness gives rise to Truth. Truth enables
one to attain the Supreme Treasure, which is the Absolute Truth.
3 The principal of Rta is eternal and omnipresent. It is immanent in all
the creations of Cosmos. Rta is the binding principle of this cosmos,
whether physical or moral. In the moral sphere, Rta is righteousness. It is
the measure of morality. Those who follow the path of Rta, follow the path
of Good. They are called Vratani. The path of Rta (Vrata) is consistent
with the natural cosmic order. The path of Rta leads a man to a harmonious,
prosperous, and contented life.* Anrta is the opposite of Rta.* Anrta
represents complete disorder and confusion. The path of Anrta goes against
natural laws. It leads a man towards disease and death.
4 Satyam and Rta are synonyms only; asatyam and anrta are synonyms; But
why the synonym was used in 2 places; Satya and rta? Satya is a positive
energy; Rta is positive; anrta is negative; and usage is striking; stated
as “na anrta”; not the disorderliness; na is negative and anrta is another
negative and use of double negative is asserting the positive outlook. ONLY
THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH. Assimilations of the satya as well as
the anrta can occur; there can exist the assimilation of the SURA AND THE
ASURA. There could be on one side 11 akshouhini army and on the other side
7 akshouhini army and assimilation existed on both sides; the quality of
asura was quelled by the quality of the sura by satya and Rta which is the
Dharma.

Simple meaning: abidat tapaso viz from the desire of the brahmam, rtam and
satyam were adya jayata were born; It is the creative wexposition from
brahmam; then RATRA night was born; then the sea was born; samudro; from
these the samvastrao the calendar the years were born means TIME; the earth
with the day and night started; then the surya and Chandra; first kalpa,
light, divam; earth prthivim; anthariksha all kinds of elements were all
born one after the other; first is Rta and Satya.
6 What is “natural” is Ṛta. We receive it from what it reveals itself.
Sun rises, seasons change, beings live, rivers flow. That progression has a
natural flavour - the Ṛta. It is an intrinsic part of nature. Everything
has this inherent quality by which it progresses, lives. Not just having
the existential property (*satya*) does matter become perceived to exist.
It is through Ṛta that happens. In the moral background, satya is the
truth, Ṛta is expression. Satya is the Self, Ṛta is the* tanu *- the
perceived form. Satya is the objective. Ṛta is the perception.
7 You might relate it roughly with analogy of “particle”-“wave”, or
“matter”- “energy” - the former implying the analogous equivalent of
*satya *and the latter the *Ṛta*. Devas are themselves the embodiment of
*satya *and reveal themselves through the *Ṛta*.
8 Ṛta is best understood pairing with Satya.
9 The quality of satya is that it never wavers, it never changes. The
quality of Ṛta is that it never stops, it ought not stop. Satya symbolizes
specificity. Ṛta symbolizes continuity. Satya symbolizes the Devas, Ṛta
symbolizes the Yajñāgni.
10 Opposite to Ṛta is thus “unnatural”, something that is possible in a
moral or synthetic construct - to hamper the existence of society, to work
against the existence of nature, to go against the “revealed” flow. This is
what Vṛtra stands for - the “blocker” of Ṛta. Blocking Ṛta might always
create a bad future. This became dreaded in most of the Indian
philosophies, ranging from law systems (which warn against making dams in
rivers) to medicinal systems (Ayurveda does fear blocking of natural
expressions of living).
11 Without Satya there is ignorance. Without Ṛta there is arrogance.
Satya translates to love. Ṛta translates to wisdom.
Satya translates to vision. Ṛta to perception.
Satya translates to Sun, Ṛta translates to Sky and its state.
Satya is the year, Ṛta is the sequence of seasons.
Satya is the syllable, Ṛta is the sound.
Satya is the verse, Ṛta is the metre.
Satya is husband and the Rta is wife.
12 In hymn 1.4.14 of Brahadaranyaka Upanishad, *Satya* (truth) is equated
as, nothing is higher than the Law of Righteousness (*Dharma*). The weak
overcomes the stronger by the Law of Righteousness. Truly that Law is the
Truth (*Satya*); Therefore, when a man speaks the Truth, they say, "He
speaks Righteousness"; and if he speaks Righteousness, they say, "He speaks
the Truth!" For both are one.
13 Taitriya Upanishad 11.11 states, "Speak the Satya (truth), conduct
yourself according to the Dharma (morality, ethics, law)"
14 The Mundaka Upanishad, for example, states in Book 3, Chapter 1,
*सत्य*मेव जयते नानृतं[ <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satya#cite_note-21>
Translation 1: *Truth* alone triumphs, not falsehood.
Translation 2: *Truth* ultimately triumphs, not falsehood.
Translation 3: The *true* prevails, not the untrue.
— Mundaka Upanishad GOI emblem. * 3.1.6*
15 Sandilya Upanishad of Atharvanaveda, in Chapter 1, includes
ten forbearances as virtues, in its exposition of Yoga. It defines Satya as
"the speaking of the truth that conduces to the wellbeing of creatures,
through the actions of one's mind, speech or body.” (MANO, VAK Kaayam)
16* Satya* is described - one as empirical truth about reality, another
as abstract truth about universal principle, being and the unchanging.
"The righteous hold that forgiveness, truth, sincerity and compassion are
the foremost (of all virtues). Truth is the essence of the Vedas."
17 To speak the truth is meritorious. There is nothing higher than truth.
Everything is upheld by truth, and everything rests upon truth. Even the
sinful and ferocious, swear to keep the truth amongst themselves, dismiss
all grounds of quarrel and uniting with one another set themselves to their
(sinful) tasks, depending upon truth. If they behaved falsely towards one
another, they would then be destroyed without doubt. — *The Mahabharata,
Chapter CCLIX*
*18 ADI SHANKARA SAID WHICH IS BEYOND ANY ONE’S INTERPRETATIONS *—Now
truth and the rest chiefly characterized by restraint are enjoined upon a
*bhikshu*, *i.e.*, mendicant, as auxiliary aids with sound knowledge; he
should be attained by truth, *i.e.*, by abstaining from falsehood; as also
by *tapas*, *i.e.*, by concentration of the senses and the mind, which is
declared to be the highest *tapas*; for, it is this which is of greatest
help, as it is turned towards beholding the *Atman*, not the other forms of
*tapas*, such as the performance of the *chandrayana* (a penance), etc.
“This *Atman* should he attained” should be read into every clause.
‘By good knowledge’, by beholding the *Atman* as it really is. ‘By
*Brahmacharya*,’ by abstinence from sexual pleasure. *Nityam*, always. The
word “always” should be read with every one of the words ‘truth,’ ‘*tapas*,’
etc. Just as a lamp within a building illumines every part of it, it will
be said, later on, that they seethe *Atman* in whom there is neither
deceit, nor falsehood, nor cunning. Who this *Atman* is that should be
attained by these aids is explained? ‘Within the body,’ in the midst of the
body, *i.e.,* in the *akas* of the lotus of the heart. ‘Resplendent’, of
golden hue. *Subhra*, pure. The *yatayah*, *i.e.*, those who are habitually
seeking, *i.e.*, the *Sanyasins*, ‘their faults removed,’ *i.e.*, devoid of
all taint of mind such as anger, etc., find this *atman*. The drift is that
the *atman* is attained, by *Sanyasins* with these aids as truth, etc.,
constantly practised and cannot be attained by them occasionally practised.
This text is a eulogy of such aids as truth, etc.

known as sanyās is non-different from Yog, for none become yogis without
renouncing worldly desires.*
20 Sankalpa is desireless. Sankalpa is made to gain all the richness of
the earth out of desire and the “SANNYASTHA SANKALPA” IS THE RENOUNCING THE
DESIRE WHICH IS BECOMING THE DESIRELESS VIZ THE ULTIMATE SANYASA. The other
side of the krodham is delusion whereas the other side of the desire is
Anrtam. Truth is NEVER that of yours and mine but “only one” whereas facts
are so many. There can be “N” FACTS but the road to the truth is only one
may be through only one fact and corelated combined facts. Delusion is
something else. Krodhat bhavathi Sammoha: anger cause the delusion=Sammoha:
sankalpa is desireless.
21 Delusion is a THAMASO Guna and with the delusion one may view GOD as he
wishes which includes the atheism also that of Caravaka. The Cārvāka school
is one of the” heterodox" philosophies. It rejects supernaturalism,
emphasizes materialism and philosophical skepticism holding empiricism,
perception and conditional inference as the proper source of knowledge. It
holds that there is neither afterlife nor rebirth, all existence is mere
combination of atoms and substances, feelings and mind are an
epiphenomenon, and free will exists. (Buddhism took that) One of the widely
studied principles of Cārvāka philosophy was its rejection of inference as
a means to establish valid, universal knowledge, and metaphysical truths.
In other words, the Cārvāka epistemology states that whenever one infers a
truth from a set of observations or truths, one must acknowledge doubt;
inferred knowledge is conditional. The Vedic system did advice to question;
take good even from the rut; keno Upanishad is one such; Ramana said ask
yourself WHO AM I?’ Rama in Valmiki Ramayanam, accepted the Caravaka as
good as Vasishta as different lines of the thinking but not that of satyam
the act of Caravaka. Hinduism has no conditional way termed as a religion
at all, but showed the way to lead a life in good stead. Dharma is the way
of life and it permitted all the paths and had no retention or conversion
or redemptions etc. Many Upanishads, and gruhya sutrams prevailed but
there was one condition that nothing can override the vedas because it is
SATYAM. That is why the sanctum of the Veda is Satyam vada, satyam bruyat,
satyameva jayathe etc.
22 Idea cannot prove by itself but only through a tool it is done; and
that needs the karma or an action; Proof as u said is evidentiary direct
and evidentiary indirect beyond the comprehensions too. The knowledge is
required to prove the idea or under the idea as a self-proving to each.
Believing that the earth is flat as by the west for many years (not by
Indians sir as some induce such ideas) there was also an idea with proof
which they had the right to to hold until…. But that was not a relevant
proof as they thought so hence believing as proof is also an index of the
mind and the knowledge; hence though accepted by the society as Caravaka
ideals, were done at the time of Rama, so too, proof of the pudding may be
in the eating ,but not the proof of the rta or satyam which does arise only
when in line the thinker unites to gain. Because the thought of earth is
flat did not go against the society to get destroyed, it is not an
acceptable factor at all to concur with. However the satyam might arise
slowly which path of travel towards the right Rta is acceptable. Even
though the principle of nothing need be taken for granted and as “GIVE”,
the existentialism of the truth cannot be assigned as another breakable
factor; unawareness is us and not that of the satyam. In B G that is why it
is said that “*“Those whose minds are distorted by material desires
surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of
worship according to their own natures.”* (*Bhagavad-gita 7.20*
<http://www.asitis.com/7/20.html>)”; “
*Sreyan Svadharmo Vigunah para-dharmat Svanusthitat *
*Svadharme nidhanam sreyah para-dharmo bhayavahah1. *
It means, better is one’s own duty, though devoid of merit, than the duty
of another well discharged. Better is death in one’s own duty, the duty of
another is productive of danger. For, the duty of another leads to danger
such as hell (naraka). (B G 3.35).
23 objectivity is a term with the meaning GOAL as well as many indirect
meanings with the purpose. It means “*the **quality*
<https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/quality>* of being *
*able* <https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/able>* to make
a **decision* <https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/decision>
* or **judgment*
<https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/judgment>* in a **fair*
<https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/fair>* way that is
not **influenced*
<https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/influence>* by *
*personal* <https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/personal>
*feelings* <https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/feeling>
* or **beliefs* <https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/belief>
(*cambridge). *Without a subject an object does not arise; without a bad a
good does not arise; without negative a positive does not exist. Without
Karma yogi a karma sanyasi does not exist. So objectivity is a concept of
duality. It is equivalent to a fact of yours and mine in variation, but the
truth is advaitham. Hence statement “Objectivity is the basis of Vedanta.
It is derived from the fundamental axiom.” is erroneous; basis may be many
things both right and wrong or even mixed; Vedanta is a dharsan in sanskrit
; dharsana means SEEING AND BEHOLDING; perception is the word in the
vedantha and B G much explained; the perception exists because there is
something to be perceived, which means that there at least two objects;
where the mind acts as the perceiver to perceive an object through the
quality of the perception, then the status of the person is dwelling in
duality; duality is the mode of at least two subject and object and may be
more also; hence when the term objectivity is used, it is in the running in
MAYA; when the perceived and the perceiver are one and the same and there
is no perception at all then the realisation or moksha or Mukthi had
occurred. Where there is a goal I am progressing or started to progress;
there is no end to realise that the race is over as there are no knower and
there is nothing to be known at all.
24 Morality, Existential, existential Reality, existential truth,
existential crisis, existential bla-bla- there are many jargons in English-
after the Greek adopted west Philosophy of Engel, Kant, Friedrich
Nietzsche, Peter Paul Sartre etc. Sartre used these jargons in plenty,
which confused many in 1930-40s, where my father and and friends used to
discuss a lot about. EXISTENTIAL means that which is in existence (in
vedantha MAYA); SARTRE said that existentialism precedes the essence; ( in
Tamil “chattiyil irundal agappayil varum; meaning only if there in the pot
the spoon can take out something); Greek said the reverse and Sartre
defied the Greeks; Descartes is seen only under this light; I THINK
THEREFORE I EXIST; these Caravaka theories started only in late Ads in
Europe whereas , In India that was the tie of Treta yugam.
25 Mahabharatham is about Morality as well as the outcome of persons
who over cross the boundary of the Dharma. Morality is not about marrying 4
women or 4 men but how the life is lead according to the general dharma as
well as the local laws. Where women is not abused yagna Valkya can have 2
wives subject to that country laws. Morality is living without interfering
in another man’s rights with the vindictive purposes. Morality of the
society, about husbands and wives, parents and children and Guru and the
king which is more or less Manu sastra and ARTHA sastra. Tirukkural in
toto.
26 All religions are good as long as it serves their society; only
when intrusion into others’ privacy is perpetrated, the clash of titans
occur. It is not the folly of the religion but the folly of the Zakirs and
churches preceptors the earth feels nervous breakdowns. Evolution is
natural. There is no if and buts of only this way and that way; but
undoubtedly within the frame works of the constitution internal as well as
the external; where it is thwarted, the war is inevitable. Where the war or
defending the morale is involved, there the GUNA should change; this
equally applies to all the 4 varnas and 3 gunas; where there are no
labourers for the agriculture , the owners of the other varnas entrench
themselves where they turn into the other professions or Varna and not
JATI. Hence Drona acting as a Shatriyan is accepted in the gruhya sutras
and sastras.
27 Hinduism is a coined word after 1600 AD and thus made a religion
in par with others and we out of the herds’ instincts accepted it in toto.
We are basically made up of the sanathana dharma where the dharma was not
defined or regulated as formulae like other religions as codes; it was
given to the entire universe thus it proclaims. There are no words
indicating that the Bharatha VARSHAM is a conclave of narrow-mindedness;
there was absolute liberty to practice all ways of life subject to the
dharmic ways as uttered or even beyond to cross the boundary and return
back also, without any ceremonial functions; it is a mind culture as a
chess game.
28 Science is also a metaphysics argued as not as Sanathana dharma
stated to be a metaphysical, is also a science perfect. Such a perfect
thinking that existed 10000 years back expends one in awe. The Kanadha
Rishi is only identified by the west as science but right from Rig vedam
the science of Vedic fundamentals raised a smart nation or the nations
unrivalled to any other countries in the league till 1600 AD. Everything on
this universe was measured right on dot in a different tone and text.
Foreigners could easily grasp all of them but not the local who had no
inkling to progress but be a sprout leaning on another tree. Even after the
advent of the outsiders extolling our assets, we are wallowing our tails in
the mud like a pig farm. The days are changing. The blouse my mother was
wearing is back in 2020. So Utishta Jagratha. K R IRS 251220

>> other issues of the public health system are lack of infrastructure,
>> limited manpower, poor quality of care and overcrowding of facilities due
>> to insufficient focus on elderly care [4].
>> Changing Family Structure
>> The traditional Indian society with an age-old joint family system has
>> been instrumental in safeguarding the social and economic
>> security of the elderly people. The traditional norms and values of Indian
>> society also laid stress on showing respect and providing care
>> for the elderly. However with the emerging prevalence of nuclear family

>> alone or with spouse only from 9.0% in 1992 to 18.7% in 2006 [5]. Family
>> care of the elderly seems likely to decrease in the future with
>> the economic development of the nation and modernization.
>> Lack of Social Support
>> The elderly in India are much more vulnerable because of the less government
>> spending on social security system. The elderly in urban
>> area rely primarily on hired domestic help to meet their basic needs in an
>> increasingly-chaotic and crowded city. Social isolation and
>> loneliness has increased [6]. Insurance cover that is elderly sensitive is
>> virtually
>> non- existent in India. In addition, the preexisting illnesses
>> are usually not covered making insurance policies unviable for the elders.
>> Pension and social security is also restricted to those who have
>> worked in the public sector or the organized sector of industry. In a study
>> by Lena et al. [7], almost half of the respondents felt neglected
>> and sad and felt that people had an indifferent attitude towards the elderly.
>> It was also found that 47% felt unhappy in life and 36.2% felt
>> they were a burden to the family.
>> Social Inequality
>> Elderly are a heterogeneous section with an urban and rural divide. They
>> are less vulnerable in rural areas as compared to their urban
>> counterparts, due to the still holding values of the joint family system
>> All the elderly are not seen in the same view as the needs and problems
>> of elderly are rejected to a vast extent as the government classifies
>> these people based on caste and other socio cultural dimensions. In a
>> case
>> study, it was found that a major proportion of the elderly women were poorer;
>> received the lowest income per person; had the greatest
>> percentage of primary level education; recorded the highest negative
>> affective
>> psychological conditions; were the least likely to have health
>> insurance coverage and they recorded the lowest consumption expenditure
>> [8].
>> Availability, Accessibility and Affordability of Health Care
>> Due to the ever increasing trend of nuclear families, elder care management
>> is getting more difficult, especially for working adult children who
>> find themselves responsible for their parents’ well-being. Managing
>> home care for the elderly is a massive challenge as multiple
>> service providers – nursing agencies, physiotherapists and medical suppliers
>> – are small, unorganized players who extend sub-optimal
>> care. In India, health insurance coverage is essentially limited to
>> hospitalization.
>> The concept of geriatric care has remained a neglected
>> area of medicine in the country. Despite an aging population, geriatric care
>> is relatively new in many developing countries like India with
>> many practicing physicians having little knowledge of the clinical and
>> functional
>> implications of aging [9-11]. Not many institutes offer the
>> geriatrics course, and even takers are few. Most of the government facilities
>> such as day care centres, old age residential homes,
>> counselling and recreational facilities are urban based. The geriatric
>> outpatient
>> department services are mostly available at tertiary care
>> hospitals [12]. Reaching to 75% of the elderly that reside in rural areas
>> with
>> geriatric care will be challenging. Dhar [13] has pointed out the
>> relative neglect in provision of facilities for patient care as well as
>> training
>> and development in geriatrics in the Indian context. As
>> pointed by Dey et al. [14], the key challenges to access and affordability
>> for
>> elderly population include reduced mobility, social and structural
>> barriers, wage loss, familial dependencies, and declining social engagement.
>> The stigma of aging is another social barrier to access of
>> health in addition to the health and social conditions the elderly commonly
>> face such as dementia, depression, incontinence and
>> widowhood [15].
>> Economic Dependency
>> As per the 52nd round of National Sample Survey Organization, nearly
>> half of the elderly are fully dependent on others, while another
>> 20 percent are partially dependent for their economic needs [16]. About
>> 85% of the aged had to depend on others for their day to day
>> maintenance. The situation was even worse for elderly females [17]. The
>> elders living with their families are largely contingent on the
>> economic capacity of the family unit for their economic security and well
>> being. Elderly often do not have financial protection such as
>> sufficient pension and other forms of social security in India. The single
>> most
>> pressing challenge to the welfare of older people is poverty, which
>> is a multiplier of risk for abuse [18]. Also due to their financial
>> dependence,
>> elderly persons though are most vulnerable to infections
>> have low priority for their own health. Migration of younger generation, lack
>> of proper care in the family, insufficient housing, economic
>> hardship and break-up of joint family have made the old age homes seem
>> more relevant even in the Indian context [19].
>> It is important to understand the social aspects concerning ageing in the
>> country as they go through the process of ageing. Increased life
>> expectancy, rapid urbanization and lifestyle changes have led to an emergence
>> of varied problems for the elderly in India. It must be
>> remembered that comprehensive care to the elderly is possible only with
>> the involvement and collaboration of family, community and the
>> Government. India should prepare to meet the growing challenge of caring
>> for its elderly population. All social service institutions in the
>> countries need to address the social challenges to elderly care in order
>> to improve their quality of life. There is a need to initiate requisite
>> and
>> more appropriate social welfare programmes to ensure life with dignity for
>> the elderly. In addition, there is also a need to develop an integrated
>> and responsive system to meet the care needs and challenges of elderly in
>> India.
