Q1         Which country is without a river in its land?

A1          Marius Mindfull UpdatedFebruary 1-2021

A significant number ofcountries do not have any river, most of these are
desert countries (like the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia)and micro
states (likeMalta and Monaco).

Still it is quite impressive how such massive countries like Saudi
Arabia(2,149,690 km2) have not rivers and still manage to get enough water for
theirentire population (33,000,000 people).

Today about 50% of drinkingwater in Saudi Arabia comes from desalination, 40%
from the mining of non-renewable groundwater and only 10% from surfacewater in
the mountainous southwest of the country. The government of Saud storesthe water
underground with the help of aquifers.

Full list of countries withoutrivers:

Duryodhana, however, of Kuru's race, could not tolerate that rejection of

Q4         Which oil is best for Indian cooking?

A4          Rohan Monga 9-2-2021Healthand Fitness Writer

Cooking oil is an integral part of cooking food in the Indian traditionwhere it
is difficult to imagine cooking our food without any oil.As oil orcooking
medium is important and essential for food to cook and enhance nutrition
assimilation andtaste.

Thus these are the best oils/cooking medium you can use which are healthyand
affordable.

1.Cold pressed groundnut oil

One of the most consumed oils in the north region of India(around Gujratand
Rajasthan as it is densely grown over there), groundnut(peanuts) oils is agreat
source of unsaturated fats which is good for your body, also adds greattaste
and texture to your food, which is you just cannot imagine making Poha without
groundnut oil.

It also has a higher smoking point of around 232 °C, which is a goodthing for
cooking. Just make sure that you don't use any kind of refined oils asthe
nutrition value left in refined oils is absolutely nothing.

NOTE- Tamilnadu also use ground nut oil for 75% of the cooking needs.

2.Musturd oil

Again a good option as an oil for cooking just makes sure to use mustardoil
where it blends well with the food that you are making with, although it is a
great oil that youcan use in your daily cooking needs.Mustard oil also has a
smoking pointof 249 °C, which is best according to Indian cooking.

3. Cold Pressed coconut oil

Cold-pressed coconut oil is oneof the best cooking oil and my personal
favourite oil as well as you can use it for a variety of purpose, like cooking
food, oil pulling, oiling your hair and body(which is great as coconut oil is
rich inlauric acids and medium-chain fatty acids) and in baking as well, which
is whycoconut oil can be used for various purposes. Also, you won't see a big
difference in taste which iscooked in coconut oil. Apart from its uses coconut
oil has endlessbenefits for your body, from heart health to skin and hair
health.

Also, coconut oil also has a high smoking point, which is again good forcooking
food.Just make sure that you use cold-pressed coconut oil .

NOTE- Kerala usescoconut oil  for 95%of cooking needs .

4. Desi ghee

Another my personal favorite cooking medium is desi ghee, as it is one ofthe
best fat sources that anyone can consume, also desi ghee has the highest
smoking point comparedto other oils.

Desi ghee is a bit expensive, which is why not a wide population use desighee
for cooking but again if you can afford desi ghee for cooking, it is the
bestmedium to cook your food, just make sure that you don't overuse it, use it
according to whatfood requires and in moderation.

Again if you can’t use it for cooking the best you can use desi ghee isto top
your food with.I personally use desi ghee and cold-pressed coconut oilin most
of my food.

Therefore these are the best cooking oils that you can use to cook yourfood
which offers the best health benefits.

The only thing that you should take care of is to notconsume any refined or
so-called healthy and cholesterol-free marketed oils as I said thenutritional
value is opposite to what they claim.

Q5         What are the good and bad health effects of coffee?

A5          Promoted by MFine December 24-2020

Caffeine definitely has goodand bad effects on your body.Talking about some
good, when taken in moderation, caffeine consumptioncan help you with the
following:

Getting you energized-Helping you burn some fat

Lower your risk of type 2diabetes

It may help in preventing dementia

It may reduce your risk of developing certain types of cancer

It can help boost good liverhealth

That being said, though caffeine can charge you up at a quick pace, itcan also
induce fatigue problems later in your day.

It leaves an impact from thebrain to the bowel. Caffeinehits your brain and
bloodstream immediately after consumption as itstraightaway acts as a stimulant
with the release of adrenaline and boosts yourenergy levels.

It also increases your alertness which compiling with the above effectsmakes
you feel super energetic and fresh after your morning cup of coffee.

Caffeine is capable enough to stay in your body for long hours. It actually
takes around 6 longhours to reduce the retention of caffeine in your body by
just 50%, butit still happens to vary from person to person.

Caffeine, as it boosts the‘feel-good’ chemical, dopamine inyour body, it
happens to affect the pleasure centres in your body.

Caffeine can work as a catalystto create insomnia or boost pre-existing
insomnia. Therefore, when you consume coffee later in the day, it so happens
todisturb your sleep pattern for the night.

Caffeine definitely stimulatesbowel movement. We all have the experience to
rush to reach our washrooms afterdrinking a cup of coffee assome studies
suggest that it has a direct impact on your colonic muscles whichleads to
contractions and hence bowel movements. Higher doses of caffeine can surely
impact yourmental health as it triggers nervousness and anxiousness.

Caffeine is known to stimulate hormonal responses in the body, a rush
ofadrenaline and dopamine discharge which nevertheless increases the heart rate
and high blood pressure.

Though some become tolerant to these fluctuations over time, someexperience the
downfall. Italso causes an impact on your appetite. A loss of interest to grab
something toeat.

Q5         What are interesting facts about human blood?

A5          Rohit Virmani 13-2-2021Hereare some facts about human blood that
most of us don't know:

Unique facts:

It would take 1,120,000 mosquitoes to drain all the blood of an adulthuman.

To circulate blood, the heart creates such pressure that it can release ablood
flow of 9 meters high.

A human being can live withouta pulse. In 2012, doctorsinstalled a device in
the body of Craig Lewis, 55, that allows blood to flowthroughout his body
without a pulse.

Stan Larkin lived 555 dayswithout a heart, waiting for atransplant. His own
heart was replaced by a device that Stain used to carry inhis backpack. He
could even play basketball.

The amount of blood that passes through the circulating body in 25 daysis
roughly equal to a medium-sized pool.

A person can lose 40% of hisblood and stay alive. Of course,a timely blood
transfusion is necessary.

21% of all heart attacks occur onMondays. A second peak occurs on Friday.

Our heart rate influences our mood.

To reduce the risk of heart attack, you need to wake up slowly in themorning
and reduce the intensity of evening workouts.

Coconut water is able to replaceblood plasma thanks to their similar
compositions.

Blood groups can be grounds for divorce. Couples who decide to divorce usually
have such combinations: A+AB orA+O.

Blood type has an impact on ourhealth. Type O people are not prone
tocardiovascular disease, but they are more likely to develop skin cancer
orobesity.

People with type A should payattention to the level ofcholesterol in their
blood. They are at risk of developing coronary arterydisease.

People with type B shouldremember that they are prone to diabetes and
pancreaticcancer.

People with AB-type blood shouldtake care of their memory andconcentration, as
the risk of cognitive impairment in AB people is 82% higherthan in other types.

Q7         How does a TV dish get the signal from the satellite?

A7          Ian Lang Updated January23-2021 Leading Technician

The satellite (or more usuallya bank thereof) is situated in an orbit about
22,000 miles, or 36,000 km for those who like to count in tens, up. At this
point the orbit of the satellite matches that of the Earth, andso for all
practical intents and purposes it occupies thesame place in the sky constantly
when viewed from the ground.

It sends out radio waves. Typically satellites will operate either in theC band
(3.7 to 4.2 GHz) or the Ku band (12 to 18 GHz).

The reason we have two is because of the characteristics of each. The Cband is
highly susceptible to ground fade but not rain. The Ku band is
highlysusceptible to rain fade but not ground. Consequentlywhere there are
densely populated areas where it doesn’t rain much, Ku isbetter. In
remoterareas where you may get a monsoon, C band is a better choice.

Because radio waves follow aninverse square law, by the time it gets down to
this rock it’s very weak. Tocombat this we use a parabolic dish:

Parabolas are interesting whenthey are used to collect waves of anything
because what they do is collect the wave front and focus it at one point:

At that point we put alow-noise block convertor (LNB). The LNB collects the
lot. It’s often poweredto amplify and convert the signals to an
intermediatefrequency between 950–1,950 MHz. It’s then fed down coaxial cables
to the satellite box.

These signals are modulated with digital information these days. Theymost
probably will be OFDM; QPSK (DVB-S); they broadcast a lot of sound and audio
for multiplechannels on the same frequency, as a multiplex (MUX). This is why
sometimes you may get some channels perfectly but notothers.

Decoding is done in the box using a bewildering series of transforms. It’s then
turned into sound and picture information for whichever channel youare watching
and sent to the TV by whatever connection you’re using (SCART atone time and
now more likely HDMI). This is a complicated mixture of both software and
hardware andthere’s about a zillion things that can go wrong. Sky boxes also
use theinternet for certain features, adding more complications.

Q8         What are some less known facts about pyramids?

A8          Kevin Flint August 24,2015, 2020-Ancient History · Political
scientist and occasional historian.

One fact most people don't knowis that the largest pyramid in the world is not
the Great Pyramid of Giza inEgypt, but the Great Pyramid of Cholula in Mexico.
And the third largest pyramid in the world is thePyramid of the Sun, also in
Mexico.

And unlike the EgyptianPyramids, Mesoamerican pyramids were built as temples
and meant to be climbed, with massive staircases going up them. If youvisit
(and you're in good shape) you can ascend to the top of the Pyramid ofthe Sun
or explore some of the tunnels excavated under Cholula.

All the above QA are based onQuora digest to me on 13-2-2021. Quora answers
need not be 100% correct answers
