MEDUVADAI, MASALVADAI, SAMBAR

Dear friends,

Three daysback I was going to Bangalore in the Mysore express. It was
afternoon. I wasjust getting siesta. Suddenly the voice from a vendor woke me-
MEDUVADAI, MASALVADAI, andSAMBAR.

I looked atthe snack- Just prepared and asked for two meduvadai. The vendor
asked-Thottukka? (Side dish?)

He himselfsaid- Sambar is here, excellent taste and hot. Just have it.  He
poured sambar and really the snack meduvadaiand side dish sambar were very
tasty.

On my returnby Chennai double decker- I waited for the snack. At Vaniyambadi,
the snackprepared was loaded and another vendor came with announcement-
MEDUVADAI, MASALVADAI, andSAMBAR. Yes, the same taste as I enjoyed in the up
trip.

I learnt fromthe vendor, nowadays specified items are prepared from certain
stations and loadedin the train and vendors sell them. So the items are hot.

Really the meduvadaiand sambar had better taste than the ones   served in Adyar
Anandabhavan and priced very less.

Mostpassengers were asking the item, the vendor exhausted the meduvadai with
him inmy coach itself in both trips.

This postingis just to say- Occasionally items served by vendors in trains also
are of veryhigh quality.  The servers appear in neatironed dress and supply
items wearing gloves in hand.
