CHENNAI TRAFFIC POLICE TO INTRODUCE VISSIM SOFTWARE report from Sri V
Sridharan Trichy
KR A good idea by the G.o.Tamilnadu. If things get controlled well let
it happen. But camera fixing in chennai did not even help the police in
deducting the crime. No one paid any penalty. Where are the cameras
functioning? Those fixers of the camera have a world wide reputation. In
the USA and in London, those cameras' design and fixing had rendered the
drivers to tread. In the USA I have travelled to many places; in Singapore
and In London the left side drive nations, one's car tire rib will not move
an inch in that signal. In the USA, every right side drive and taking the
right curve or turn is focussed with so much attention giving halt (stop) 5
sec and right doing slowly and then merging. Even an ambulance has to do
it. Even at 2 AM when the road is aghast clear. In short the enforcement
and the road capacity for the vehicles are architected so beautifully. The
pedestrians outside the inner dwelling city are not cared if they are hit,
since they are blocked and denied the access to cross or run about. The
roads San jose is made ( even santa clara and Sunnyvale) currently, giving
a major pep up for the cyclists and vendors and parking and a lane for the
right turn. Always 3 to 4 + lanes on each side of the big road rendered the
fast movements of the vehicle. Currently to take the right turn to enter in
the highway roads (here all are numbered) one has to reach the right
extreme lane; and the green patches for the cyclists, parking and the
divider are all, so confusing, one could miss the entry into the last lane
for the expressway. And a little tilt by such confusion taking the right
from the 3rd laane, thinking it is the 4th, and finding the mistake ,even
before taking the turn, if one is swerving to the left, (not to err) , if
captured in the camera, driving licence could be affected. Drivers will
not sleep that night for fear of getting the notice the next day first
through email. A 8tyre truck driver on that night in mountain view ( a
place) having entered in the wrong opposite lane , was flickering his head
and tail lights to save the drivers coming in that lane in the opposite
direction; it is an error; but police were there; and the truck driver
licence could be damaged. No fear of favour. But In India is that being
done? In Chennai, can bigwigs be punished? So enforcement is a must which
is lacking in TN ( not Tennessee) . If so, now the news of Vissim software
I am not hopeful.
Who is Vissim PTV? PTV is a world group company anchored in
London and USA and Singapore and 28 more places on this earth who are
managed by HUSS , managing so many traffic problems including the
logistics. DHL is their client. San jose traffic is being handled by that
software and if I click my laptop at this minute 17 11 hours on 1 6 23 here
I find traffic across my residence at 95000 plus. And all drive with fear
of enforcement. Roads are so broad. Vehicle inspection is done regularly
and as dust is less, all vehicles here (mostly all vehicles of the USA are
leased rather than owned) parked will glitter. In my house at T Nagar,
chenna 17 every day my car has to be washed as there is so much of the
pollution. Apart from that, all roads Pondy Bazaar, G N chetty Rd and
Venkata Narayana road are all only 30 feet wide. Mount Road is the only
road with width 70 feet to 100 feet from Parrys end to chengalpet. In San
Jose it is one side of the road , I mean Mount rd when compared. And unlike
west, in Chennai ( all other parts of India), we have 2 wheelers and 4
wheelers of different kinds, makes and era varied, vehicles running from
zooming to driven-by-foot (so slow) . Pedestrians and the cyclists will
weave over. And handling the cyclists rude is anathema as per oral
instructions from the DMK govt for the past 4 decades. Already, everyday
the street which was so quiet of mine , became a sudden traffic diversion
(one of the ) road and the horn sound and dust pollution they create even
in the mid night is so horrible. Alwarpet is in the news because now the
safe zone where the laate used to visit his one of the W, once has now
become the vehicles ladden. The present CM has his home there. And the CM
is visiting London often and now Japan. PTV Vissim is a solution to , maybe
ALWARPET, since police will always be there. As the camera suitcase arrived
so too this suitcase would. Where there are no wide and effective roads
outside the city and all cross sections of the vehicle are moving, and
bigwigs can pass over, enforcement is bereft of......., another scandal for
the future regime. Where will they divert?. There is a slogan by the
ministry of petroleum: consume less fuel. But more fuel is consumed only by
sudden diversions. And that is not the solution. In TTD at least they say
"JARUGANDI" POLITELY through irritating; but constables will talk only as
YAV POYYA. ptv GROUP GET THEIR BUSINESS. aS THEY ARE CONTROLLING FROM
sINGAPORE THE ASIA OPERATIONS no one can be complained against Jai Hind.
