There is also no credible proof that Vyaasa of Mahabhaaratham fame, born on
a remote river island as son of a fisherman's daughter and illegitimate
child of a wandering aged ascetic of uncertain lineage, (and hence called
black-skinned Krishna Dveepaayana) had divine powers to restore to life
dead men and women.

The puraanams say that, on his mother Durganthi's prompting, Vyaasa the
avowed brahmachaari for life, had sex with dead king Veeryavijayan's widows
Ambika and Ambaalika and with Ambaalika's maid-servant, and produced sons
blind Dritharaashtra, skin-diseased Paandu, and Vidoora.

No one conferred on Vyaasa powers to raise the dead, much less divinity.
