I just watched this film with my 9 year old step-son tonight. Other than a lot of foul language, the film was perfectly suited for his age. He loved it! He was excited in all the right parts. He was thinking ahead and figuring out some of the time travel subplots. He did me proud.
It got me thinking... sooner or later someone is going to do a remake. In fact, a remake in the year 2015 would make a lot of sense. So if you had the chance to remake Back to the Future, how would you do it?
Here are some of my thoughts... While I don't know that I would enjoy the movie below, it does seem to be a logical extrapolation of the original film...
- Marty McFly - Zack Efron (from High School Musical)
- Dr. Emmett Brown - Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld)
- Director - Don't know, but it's got to be someone that gets comedy (physical & the kind that comes from dialogue) as well as someone who can direct a good car chase.
- The car - Use a Hummer this time around (or maybe a Smart Car if you're going for humor)
- Marty travels back in time from 2015 to 1985. Marty has to get his parents to kiss at the Cyndi Lauper Concert.
