A lot of great writers can't finish their stories to save their life, like
Stephen King. He does manage to end a FEW of his 12 million works decently,
but most of them are like, OMG, WTF??? Like IT--a giant space spider???
Really???

But I keep reading his stuff, darn him.

SPOILERS **

I can see what you mean, but I guess I feel a little different.
Specifically for me, episode 12 of the season (the penultimate episode
each season) is usually great, with episode 13 (the season finale)
being not quite as good. For example in Season 4, "The Stolen
Earth" (episode 12) was one of my favorite episodes, but "Journey's
End" (episode 13) wasn't as good. In Season 3, "Utopia" (episode 11)
and "The Sound of Drums" (episode 12) were really good, but "Last of
the Time Lords" (episode 13) was rubbish.

It seems to me that RTD really knows how to build a great story, but
doesn't know how to finish it. That seems to be the pattern for the
multi-part stories written by him.

So I was going into "The End of Time Part One" (the penultimate
episode of the season) expecting to LOVE this episode, while expecting
to be disappointed with the Part Two (the season finale next week). I
was surprised at how "Meh" I felt after "The End of Time Part One".
Now I'm even more concerned about Part Two.

I hope what I'm trying to say makes sense. You don't have to agree
with it, I just hope I explained it well.
