I agree with Jennifer, though. Having advertisements in Twitter is no different than any other social networking service (Facebook, Myspace, FriendFeed, etc). We are never going to get away from advertising, ever. I believe Mike Judge got it exactly right in Idiocracy (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/).
