Marvel's been in dire-er straits than that before, and has emerged just fine. The road out of such a crisis wouldn't have been retreat but reassessment and relaunch. And I'm certain that Chase (I think it was) had an understanding with Marvel that Marvel Films would get more than one strike before being called "out."
