The thing about Craig's Bond, for me, and I realize this is could come
across as a bit shallow, was that he seemed too hardened and weathered
(both physically--there's the shallow bit--and emotionally) to be fresh to
the 00 system. While I realize that there is a certain amount of ordeal to
go through to even earn 00 status, he still struck me as too hard for what
was, essentially, a reboot of the series.

That said, I really did enjoy Casino Royale, but I also enjoyed Brosnan as
Bond, so Craig was a reluctant enjoyment.

But no one can hold a candle to Connery.
