We're still on Vsphere 4.0 on a Windows 2003 32-bit server and I discovered that you can't do a P2V of a Windows 2008 R2 or Windows 7 64-bit. I eventually ended up installing the 5.0 Standalone Converter on a Windows 2008 R2 server and it seemed to be working just fine when I left work today of a P2V on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. It was up to about 78% completion when I left when before it wouldn't get past 2%.
