The last time I really engaged on Transformers was the Dreamwave G1 comics. 
Really enjoyed those. Also really enjoyed the Beast Machines cartoon. The first 
Transformer live action movie was fun (but that's about it). The second film 
was completely unwatchable. The third film was barely okay. Not as bad as the 
2nd film, but not as good as the 1st.
