Beyond the Legion toys, my only connection to TF right now is the IDW TF: Regeneration One comic, which is the continuation of the original Marvel series, with the old school creators (Simon Furman is writing and the classic artists are doing the visuals). I guess it speaks to the popularity of the property that it has evolved and remained popular for such a long period following it's return to awareness with Beast Wars (a show and era which I love, btw). We've gone from Beast Wars/Beast Machines to Robots In Disguise to Armada/Energon/Cybertron to the movie stuff/Classics/Universe to War Within to TF:Animated to more movie stuff to Power Core Combiners to more movie stuff to TF:Prime and still moving along. Kids just love them some robots! Revenge Of The Fallen was appalling. I mean, just really, really bad on all levels. The only element I liked was the Decepticon "Pretender" Alice, which was a clever way to update that gimmick. Especially considering that I liked the first live action film as an adaption of the basic TF concept. The second one completely missed the mark in that sense. I applauded bringing in a new baddie in the form of fan-favorite Shockwave in DOTM, but my buddy and fellow TF fan Bob remarked that the wholesale slaughter of humans in the film is really out of touch with what TF fans young and old are looking for. I don't need to see Starscream tearing apart humans to know he is a menacing badguy. We all know that a human being cannot fight an F-22. That is not telling us anything useful. Starscream is a menacing, evil character because of his CHARACTER dangitall!
