I used to suggest this to everyone I knew that used Windows, but I don't know
if I still will now.

Microsoft Admits That Third-Party Antivirus Is More Effective Than MSE

I forgot it was just that easy.

Make a system with next to no vulnerabilities. Then the vulnerabilities that it
does have, use another system to catch it. That second system has to be perfect
though. Otherwise you need a system to catch the vulnerabilities of the second
system.

Seriously.. there is always going to be software vulnerabilities. Whether its
at the OS level or an application level.

What MS is doing is actually a good thing. They are working to try to make sure
that users (even ones who use relatively bad AV) are at least semi-protected.

Also, there's a whole industry built around Malware on Windows because Windows
is the most used platform. This means money for the malware creators. Even if
Microsoft poured *every dollar of their money* into it, someone somewhere would
eventually be able to find another vulnerability. Yesterday 9:53am
