Well, just to muddy things a bit, I have seen one or two thinkpads
like yours, which were used a lot but didn't have that much battery
deterioration.

Before my T60p was stolen, its battery had dropped by about 45%,
over a years time; I wasn't good about using the battery as much
as I should have been.
