You would have saved yourself a lot of trouble by using Acronis TrueImage instead of DriveImage XML. Yes, DriveImage XML is free, but it's slow as hell (compared to TrueImage) and it doesn't have a user-friendly way to cope with recovery from disasters: you have to figure out how to use BartPE (precisely what you are trying to do), whereas creating a bootable rescue media (and using it if the need arises) couldn't be easier.
