OK everyone thanks for your suggestions. I checked System/Hardware/ DeviceDrivers and found a yellow exclamation at "Unknown printer on USB port". I've deleted that and will observe unit today. Tonight I'll run memtest and if that turns up nothing and unit still misbehaves, I'll start on other leads Jeffrey Race
