The second fan is only called upby your system as needed. The X61 is designed to conserve battery power and other resources. That second fan seldom runs... A still blade is normal for routine use.
You might want to find a way to test the battery under load or stress before you diddle with it, as you can cause more problems than you fix. - - - - - On Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 6:06 AM, francesco tartaglia < [email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > I have thinkpad x61 > my second fan doesnt' work, > it starts to run, but after few second it stops. > Do you think that I have to change o it's possibile try to repair it? > > I have message "fan error" > and OS doesn'start. > If I enter in the bios, > then OS starts. > > My question is? > Can I use thinkpad without second fan > or it's essential? > For you it's dangerous? > I have to order fan on ebay and it take 10-15 days > and I'd continue to use my notebook > if I haven't trouble without second fan > > > Thanks for help > > best regards > f.t. > _______________________________________________ > Thinkpad mailing list > [email protected] > http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad > _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
