The second fan is only called upby your system as needed. The X61 is designed to conserve battery power and other resources. That second fan seldom runs... A still blade is normal for routine use.
You might want to find a way to test the battery under load or stress before you diddle with it, as you can cause more problems than you fix. Hi my battery doesn't work(with ubuntu it stop to work in one year). So this isn't a trouble for me. I'd Know If, without second fan, overheating can damage notebook. I didn't see your comment that you had a "fan error" message... which I have never seen on a X61 or other X series. when I turn on notebook I see the first screen(where I can read tinkpad, etc), after I have "fan error" message and notebook automatically turn off. To start OS, I have to enter in the bios and exit. We have seen a great number of bad fans sold on eBay, so be sure of your vendor, and that the fan is the correct on upon arrival. Can you tell me where I can buy second fan? (Europe is better) Thanks best regards f.t. 2009/12/7 RayBay <[email protected]> > However, I have a defect that prevents me from reading entire messages... > I didn't see your comment that you had a "fan error" message... which I have > never seen on a X61 or other X series. > > We have seen a great number of bad fans sold on eBay, so be sure of your > vendor, and that the fan is the correct on upon arrival. > > > > > > On Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 6:36 AM, RayBay <[email protected]> wrote: > >> The second fan is only called upby your system as needed.
