Thinkpad used to have a superb parts delivery system in Europe. I do not know if Lenovo continued it.
But even though the price will be higher, and most fans are generic, I would get the replacement fan from Lenovo Thinkpad because it is of such importance in the X61. Fans by various manufacturers utilize power in a variety of ways. You don't want to put your X61 to the stress of a fan that eats a lot of power. Also, you have a chance of getting a better fan, if other fan problems have been reported during warranty to the Lenovo folks. - - - - - On Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 6:52 AM, francesco tartaglia < [email protected]> wrote: > The second fan is only called upby your system as needed.
