This is typical of all laptop computer repair and warranty service, in our
experience... We repair Sony VAIO, HP, Compaq, Dell, Acer, and ASUS... All
arrive with "refurb" drives and way too often they are Hitachi drives known
for high failure. We offer to replace the drives of our clients... using
Fujitsu, Seagate, Western Digital, and Samsung (their choice) at our drive
cost.

The last two, T60 and T61, under extended warranty, came back with refurb
Hitachi drives that did not last 6 weeks. They had originally been in other
Thinkpads..

Worse, some folks who bought refurb Thinkpads from Lenovo also had refurb
Hitachi drives... but are still running.
