I configured a T400 with similar specs, it comes to $759. Quite a difference, 
as you point out.

Of course, the t400 is a pound heavier than the T410s, and does not have the i5 
processor.

All of this would be much easier with a bit of hands on shopping. The X301 (and 
X201 and X201s) is also intriguing, but at that price I'd certainly want to see 
one before ordering. The reason I am considering the T410s is because I 
actually had my hands on one for a day while setting it up, and liked the 
overall package.

Currently my daily laptop is a T61P. Great machine, but it is large and heavy.

I know the "s" is a better machine, but I have been selling T400s (not "S")
