Success - IBM (Atlanta)Thinkpad support will send the official X301
WinXP disks, albeit with a $45 charge.

My initial post to the list was prompted when I called Lenovo support
(off-shore) and they refused to send me saying that I wasn't "allowed"
to get anything. But, the good ol' people in Atlanta came through -
again. Kudos to IBM.

ps: thanks to those who offered to burn sets of disks for me. Going
the IBM way makes it a bit easier to get the right set of drivers
installed the first time.
