Define "best"? For me, the crucial point is the physical size and
number of pixels. 14" 1400x1050 is "best" in this regard (more pixels
require a larger physical screen, making the machine bigger and
heavier).
IIUC there have been very few 1400x1050 screen in the T61 line.

My T60's ATI GPU is always around 70° which I find to be too high, and
the fan is almost always on and can be heard. It annoyed me a bit at
the beginning (my previous machine was an X30 where the only noise you
hear is the HD and I tend to be pretty finnicky wrt noise), but I rarely
notice it in practice.
