every board I have ever seen has had a bad GPU or bad USB ports. It is an
old machine at this point.
Better to try to find a guaranteed working machine and transfer your drives.
You won't pay much more for a complete machine of that vintage than you will
pay for a board.

- how does one ensure he obtains the correct board? I received
the wrong display from an ebay vendor, even though I
provided the model number of the T43 whose screen had
cracked
