Hello, I'm currently having a really annoying problem with my T43 thinkpad. My AC adapter died (actually, the connector broke) and I replaced it with a new one (same output as the old one, an original IBM/Lenovo). It appears that the 1) battery won't charge and 2) the computer won't start without battery. The interesting thing is that the computer works perfectly with the battery inserted.
Since the yellow connector was very damaged (this is an used T43 I bought two years ago) I replaced it with a new one (again, an original Lenovo/IBM part) and nothing seems to change. So I guess the problem is located just between the power entry and the battery since my computer starts on battery power. Do you think I can manage to find a solution or is the motherboard rotten?
